To "go out" in Salamanca is "Ir de pinchos", as in many of the bars you are offered a free snack, "pincho", whenever you ask for a drink – really surprising, as prices are really adapted to a student's budget.
Around the Plaza Mayor and throughout all of the center of town, at Gran Via and, in the more modern districts, in Calle Van Dyck you will find locals which are really lively. Frequently you’ll find fantastic decoration. For instance, one looks like as if you were in an Arabian mosque, in another bar you may feel as if you were on board of a submarine…
Later at night, you may want to go to one of the many discotheques which you can find in Salamanca, where the party continues until the early morning. In this great town, you’ll understand what local people say about their city: "Salamanca por la noche como ninguna", there is no where like Salamanca in nightlife.
